More than Simplified to Traditional
Converting isn't swapping one character at a time
About seventy characters are written the same in Simplified and Traditional: 台, 范, 里, 干, 几, 涌. Swap them one by one and Mrs Fan (范太) becomes 範太, Kwai Chung (葵涌) becomes 葵湧. OmuType reads the words around them and changes only what is really Simplified

Hong Kong forms
The forms a Hong Kong keyboard types
The same character can be written differently in Taiwan, in old dictionaries and in Hong Kong. OmuType uses the forms Hong Kong phone keyboards produce, not a mix of two or three sets

What it does and doesn't do
- It changes characters, not words. 我們 stays 我們. Whether Cantonese turns into written Chinese is down to speech recognition and the AI pass, not the script conversion
- It leaves what you type or paste alone. Only text from voice and AI is converted
- Voice needs the internet. 10 free voice minutes per phone per week; typing has no limit
Questions
How do I type Hong Kong Traditional Chinese on Android?
Install OmuType and choose it as your keyboard in Settings. Jyutping, Cangjie, Quick and voice all type Hong Kong Traditional, with nothing to convert.
Voice typing keeps giving me Simplified characters. What can I do?
OmuType converts every voice result to Hong Kong Traditional before it types, including sentences the AI rewrites. You don't fix characters one by one.
Will it change 台灣 to 臺灣, or 范太 to 範太?
No. Those characters are written the same in Simplified and Traditional, so OmuType reads the words around them and changes only what is really Simplified. 葵涌, 游水, 公里 and 批准 stay too.
Hong Kong or Taiwan character forms?
Hong Kong: 裏, 着, 為, 眾. Taiwan's 裡 and 著 become the Hong Kong forms, but words written with 著 in Hong Kong too, like 著作 and 名著, stay.
Do Cangjie and Quick show Simplified characters?
No. Simplified-only characters are left out of the Cangjie and Quick dictionaries, so they never appear as candidates.
Will it turn Cantonese into written Chinese?
The script conversion changes characters, not your wording. Cantonese words like 咗, 嘅 and 畀 stay; they don't become 了, 的, 給.
